So what's up today is our week 10 and 7th blog in Educational Technology and its me again your boy Carlo so we will talking about the Digital Citizenship vs. Global Citizenship that had been given today in our subject educational Technology 2 .
Digital citizenship covers appropriate and exemplary behavior in our online environments. so it refers to the proper and responsible use of the technology or an individual who use internet, computers and any digital devices regularly and effectively to engage to the society. As the technological advancement continues to increase and considering our situation which is facing the pandemic people are more dependent in using technology to our daily activities and especially most common use in extending learning to the learner.
since technology is the most common use in today's education and usually students are the one who use the technology and they are the one who is need to be educated in using technology to become more responsible, have a good manner or behavior and ensuring their safety in online environment.in general the digital citizenship revolve around the usage of technology for educational purposes.
So these are the elements of digital citizenship which is also related to students and how tehy use technology in school.
You can observe social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources by using and applying what we have learned in our topic in educational technology 1 which is the Netiquette and some related issues using technology which help us to know the proper use of technology and to prevent and be aware on the effect and consequence.
Netiquette is important because it the proper way or polite way in communicating to others using technology to respect them and to avoid misunderstanding and it also help us to be aware in the do's and don's and proper behavior or manner in online world especially that we are on this situation where people are more dependent in using technology. Having no Knowledge about social, ethical, and legal responsibilities in the use of technology tools and resources can lead us to Misuse and abuse of technology that can harm other's or it can harm you that's why it is important to know all of this in order to become aware and to prevent some problems using technology and become a good Digital citizen .
Technology have so many benefits that help us to make our life easier and we know that technology will not do something to harm the society and i believe it is us human, due to misuse and abuse who threatens and harms our society in short the fault is at us human not the technology itself. So the only thing we can do especially to us Future Educator is to educate our self to know the proper use of technology and to have the knowledge in recognizing the proper behavior in using online, our right and responsibilities as Digital Citizens and also to be aware on cyber attack or threats to avoid them and to know how will you protect your self when you encounter them and as a Future Educator i will become good role model to my student and share all of my knowledge to become a good digital citizenship.
