Week 9 :Sketchup Tool For a better Teaching and Learning process

Last time we use adobe photoshop program for editing pictures. But for this week we will talk about Sketchup. SketchUp is a 3D modeling computer program for a wide range of drawing applications such as architectural, interior design, landscape architecture, civil and Mechanical aengineering film and video game design. 

So watsup its me again your boy Carlo its a new week and new Topic will be disscuss in educational Technology Subject.

Many of us future educator feel that have little or no talent for drawing or designing by hand which can lead to a negative self-image. This perception may use creativity in fields that involve illustration and design. With the use of software such as SketchUp, teacher with poor drawing skill may find a new strength in their ability to create. interacting with the software. Working in virtual environments such as SketchUp allows your students to “focus or easily engage on visualize presentation and much broader than language alone”

 Since some of us are not good in drawing and visualization is a very important part of the process in learning  Sir.Cutanda introduced another Digital Learning Tools that help us to solve this problem so this is the sketch up which help us to create, design or Draw things in a 3D way and shows us how the model will look in real life. He teaches us some basic techniques in creating houses, building and he example his previous work that he created which we realy amazed because its very detailed and look so hard to do. But i beleive that i can also do it i just have to follow the instruction of sir. Cutanda.in order to practice our newly acquired knowledge Sir. Redgie give us an assignment which we will create and design with our own the BASD Building.

For begginer it was so hard that's why you have to listen carefully to sir. Redgie's lecture in order to learn the basic. show you how to build a simple 3D object and how to use basic commands and tools in order to turn your ideas into the third dimension. And it is happy to think that you could able to create your own design and use your creativity.

Sketchup can be used to support students learning and unterstanding to the concept inorder to feel, experience or visualize in real life which help student to focus or engage the student in your lesson easily

Week7 & 8 : Digital Learning Tools: Photoshop

Many of our learners prefer to see or visualize versus read information in Learning and many learners get their learning “on the go with the help of digital learning tools like Photoshop and sketch up it help us to process digital image and to improve their look and if you are not good in drawing it can help you to create a a good 3d design drawings.in short this tool help us to prepare image use in teaching and learning

So whats up it's me again your boy carlo so today we will talking about the topic that we have discussed in edtech which is the adobe photoshop and sketch up.

So i was excited when i heard that we will be doing a photo editing using photoshop because i love taking photos and for me it is an art that i always appreciate so it is a good oppurtunity to learn or acquire a new skill in editing in order to give image a life and meaningful that might use  especialy in my teaching to easily engage my learner or see the big picture of the topic. So sir cutanda introduced us some techniques in editing and manipulating photos and i listened carefully and i am amazed because he has a lot of experienced to this so he used some of his photos to edit in order to understand the process easily. Since we acquire the basic techniques Sir.Cutanda give us an assignment in order to apply the skill that we acquire in his lesson.

Here is my output looks funny but we have the potential to become a Love team.

As a teacher working on a presentation you'll likely need to use images in your teaching and learning materials to help you explain,understand the concepts easily and help you to engage with your learner.

Week 6: Learning Activities using Excel and Power Point For a better Learning Experience.

Teaching does not limited to textbooks and blackboards with our fun school activities using other resources such as excel and power point learning in school becomes more interesting and enjoyable.

So what's up today is our week 6 and 5th blog in Educational Technology and its me again your boy Carlo so we will talking about the learning activities that have been presented of each group.

So we are the group 1 and we are assigned to do an activity using a Microsoft excel it was a bit hard and challeging for us because first we dont know how to make an activity using it, and second we think that its easy to use the power point but since excel was assigned to us so we have to  work with it and third is that most of our groupmates are working so its hard for us to talk or disscuss our plan personally and im very thankful to my groupmates even if most of us are working they have given their time to cooperate by simply replying with our group chat and give their suggestions,their questions to the activity, in buying prizes to have a better outcome and also to our leader Mr.Billy Aresgaldo who is very hands on to this activity give us the task to have a better outcome so for Music and effects Mr.Virgil was assigned For Scoring Ms.Luruhama abasola was assigned For Hosting it's me and Jam Dizon.and i would also like to thank Mr.Lysandre Millagracia and Ms.Hydee Talosig for allowing us to borrow their flags and help us to have a better sound effect. 

So our activity called"Kaguro Mo! Jessica Soho,Handa na ba kayo?" So reason behind the title is simply meant to make you laugh and to catch your attention 😁 so the instruction of the game is that we need first the representative of each group second is they have to put their hand in their neck the third is after reading the question and when they hear the que its time for them to quickly get their flag and say the chant that assigned to them so the first person who do it quickly is the first person who have the opportunity to answer the question.the question is is divided into 3 categories the first one is the easy mode where the question is a little bit funny and consist of 1 point in each item for this round the second is the moderate question which is the question is bit hard,the question is came to our previous subject,sem which help them to recall and consist of 3 points each question for this round.the third is the difficult question which is the question is related to our topic that we reported last time which is the copy right,infregement,fairuse & plagiarism and consist of 5 points each item for this round.we make sure that the question is alligned or focus to the subject and it is meaningful and fun to enable student to engage with and develop their skills,knowledge and understanding and directly apply it in different ways. So since we are the last group who will facilitate the activity and we know that everyone is already drained their energy because they boost their energy in the whole activity even us facillitator's are tired.so we have to make a way to make them alive and engage them to our activity such as we have to make a funny introduction and jokes and present the prizes for them to catch our attention and it works and we see that they are still enjoying and willing to participate to the last learning activity. And the winner for this activity is the Group 2 ( janine,alariza,jullie,Venus) Congrats!

So we experience each group activities and all i can say is that we had so much fun even if we are a bit tired still everyone is game to participate so Good job everyone.the intent of this activity is  to help us  to learn,  help us to recall the previous learning, help us to be resourceful in doing activity to make class interesting and most of all helped us to enjoy and unite to work together so we could easily achieve our goal which is to enjoy the whole day and of course to win their prizes even though there was a bit of misunderstanding with other groups due to being too active and excited to win we still have to act professional as being a future educator because this is just only a game  or activity that just need  to be enjoyed and won't let the happy activity and frienship get ruined just because that. so be sport,enjoy the day ,chill & relaxed.and we ended the day with full of smile and memories.

Week 5 : Technology Evolve depends on the needs of Society.

Learning is everywhere and everyone has a opportunity to learn and with the help of technology learning is more easy,effective and convinient.

So Hello everyone so its me again your boy carlo and we are on the 5th week and 4th blog in Educational Technology so we will be talking about the continuation of group reporting which is the Ubiquitous learning and wearable technology, 3D Environment, MOOC( Massive Open Online Course ) So lets start.

So Learning is a natural process of acquiring knowledge and skills while Ubiquitous means can be found everywhere and Ubiquitous Learning begins with the accessibility and supported by technology and with the help of technology learning is more easy,convinient and effective. Which is they can access some information,data anytime and anywhere so they can get the information immediately while the wearable technology is a device that can be worn easily which is very convinient because of its size very handy and you can use it anytime and anywhere it is also help us to make our life more easier, and enjoyable some wearable technology help us to identify our health status which is good ,some are use to communication, and some are for fun and fashion in short technology is evolving depends in the needs of Society and we have to decide on how we will interact with but always remember the proper use of it so we cannot harm other and we live in peace.

Next topic is about 3D environment are often referred to as virtual reality or interactive 3D and have a figurative appearance. Which help us to visualize the picture  in a very realistic way. Or help to figure our imagination closer to reality.and also help us to understand more or to see some object that cannot be seen in actual with the help of 3D environment we have the oppurtunity to see those things in detail or in short it is easy to show the educational concept or topic in life to engage deeper learning to students.

Next is MOOC or Massive Open Online Course which is their mission is to offer education for all even if you have a disabbilities,you have no time to go to the school, and to the student who cannot afford to go to school so they offer it for free and can access the course offered by the professor from top schools, they performance can be monitored too, and Can be used as a tool in a blended learning program, where students can access more information than what is provided in the class in short it helps the student to develop their learning even if they are in their house as long as they have strong internet.

Technology is evolving over the years and it depends on the societys needs so we have the privelage to make life more easier so use it well avoid the things that can harm the society.

Week 4: Misuse of Technology Can Harm you and the Society

Technology is every where and it is  very important to us because it makes our life more easier and can have many benefits  but due to misuse and abuse it can harm you,other people and the society.

So this is our 3rd meeting in Educational Technolgy and where about to present our report which is related to some issues  using technology which help us to know the proper use of technology and to prevent and be aware on the effect and consequence. So we are the first presenter and where about to tackle the copy rights,infregement and plagiarism. 

Copy right is helping the creator to protect their original work or giving them a legal right while plagiarism is copying other work and presenting as their own which is consider as stealing,cheating and dishonesty so if you copy some one's else work and they found out that you copy others work it can affect you personally they will brand you untrusworthy it also self-sabottage maybe you learn a little but not the whole process and it can be a legal issue if you copy someone's else work and it is protected by the law you violate the copy right infregement which is consider a crime and it is punishable you will be imprison for 3 to 6 years and you will be fine for 50,000 up to 150,000. So instead of copying others work why not to use your own learning or idea to create a very unique work and it will make you proud because it your own idea or you can use other work but make sure you have to acknowledge the original creator and have proper citation to live in peace.

The second reporter tackles about Netiqutte and Cyber crime law. So Netiqutte is important because it the proper way or polite way in communicating to others using technology to recpect them  and to avoid misunderstanding and it also help us to be aware in the do's and dont's and proper behavior or manner in online world.Having no nettiquette can lead us to Misuse and abuse of technology that can harm other's or it can harm you thats why it is important to know the Cyber crime law which help us or teach us to be aware and to prevent cyber attack using technology which is punishable . 

The third repoter tackles about Digital divide which is the uneven distribution access of information it is an social issue between those who have access to technology and to those without. As we know technology is evolving and the world is changing and it so unfair for those without access to technology and even to those who have access but limited in information so there are people who left behind about the advancement of technology which hopefuly help them to have easier communication,in learning to make it more effective ,to be gain more knowledge, economic growth in short it helps life more easier.

Technology have so many benefits that help us to make our life easier and we know that technology will not do something to harm the society and i beleive it is us human, due to misuse and abuse who threatens and harms our society in short the fault is at us human not the technology itself. So the only thing we can do is to educate our self to know the proper use of technology and to have the knowledge in recognizing the cyber attack or threats to avoid them and to know how will you protect your self when you encounter them.

Week 2 : Technology as Part of Teaching and Learning Process

Hi it's me again carlo! Another week has passed and we learned something new in our Educational Technology Subject

but before we start what comes to your mind when you hear the word Technology? maybe some of you will rely on smartphones,tablets,computer as use for communication which is correct as we know that Technology is a body of knowledge which involves tools, materials, and systems and it also used for transportation,business and also in Teaching and Learning and we have to focused on this  especially for us future educator it will benefit us for our Teaching and Preparing Learning materials more easier .

Technology Evolving over many years and it keeps on improving depends on our needs and  we know that it has a big impact especially it helps our life more easier that's why they encourage the school and teacher to used this in education to guide them to become more effective in teaching and generally become digital literacy,adaptable or updated in the latest technology tool and changes on what the learners need and also to apply the educational trend using different modern learning tools to make learners more interested and acquired more knowledge.

As we started the class Sir.Redgie introduced the Information Communication Technology (ICT) that refers to technologies that provide access to information and it has a Competency standards which made up into 7 Domain Understanding ICT Education, Curriculum and Assesment, Pedagogy, Technology Tools, Organization and Administration, Teacher Professional Learning, Teacher Disposition. and it set as standard and guidelines especially for us future educator to become more competitive when it comes to advancement and  promote quality teaching-learning process and develop our skill using different learning resources including ICT and to become more effective and create new learning opportunities  to support learners.

                       
                            

Next is Sir.redgie Give us some terms related to technology for teaching and learning which help us to understand more the subject and the topic, how to use , when to use and their function he also give us the list of available software or Technology Tools such as Power point, excel ,word ,multimedia , Google and many more that might help us in future in preparing visual aids , digital activity game and also making a lesson plan to make  Teaching and learning more easier . Sir. Redgie also reminds us that not all the information that we gather  in the internet is true so we have to be aware on getting information to prevent misleading in information and conflict with the students.

As a future educator we have to embrace the technology to have innovative ways in teaching, to develop digital learning resources, apply relevant tools in school activities and also we have to understand their use, function,importance,and their effect especially to our learner  to make them more interested,more enjoyable,creative ,knowledgeable and to prepare and guide them for the future so use this technology wisely and effectively .

Week 1 : EdTech Journey Starts Now!

Hi ! Im John Carlo C. De Vega, I am graduate at Technological University of the Phillipines Taguig Campus under the Automotive Engineering Technology Batch 2015 Ive been working for 4 years in industry and decided to take Bachelors of technical teaching education. Because some of my workmates and friends encourage me to study again because they believe that I still have a long way to go. And this was not an easy decision, As you know, my career is very important to me. With this in mind, I feel it is in my best interest to begin my graduate work. By continuing my education"FYI this our last opportunity to take the ladderized degree program so i decided to grab this opportunity". So i was studying at night and working at day and yes it was hard  but look i finished the first term and now we are in the second term and i am taking this subject "Educational Technology".

So in our firstday of class we didn't expect that our teacher will be sir Reginal Cuntada one of  our Seniors in  BTTE my first impression to him was very strict and some kind of terror but it was all a mistake when he introduced himself, he was a jolly person,friendly,kind and make our class in laughter and he said he knew what we were feeling because he also came on the same situation and he said that we have to finish this course and pass the board exam and he also give us advice about our board exam,incampus and outcampus and he offered that he is willing to give us help to review in some subject when we will take the board exam. We are Happy and Comfortable that we are in a Good Teacher. 

So he introduced the subject Educational Technology which is focus on roles and function of educational technology for teaching- learning process He also show us the History of technology to education which help us to understand how our society change and develop. he also show us the syllabus, content ,grading system and what are we need to Learn and what are we need to do, he also state that we have to do a blog, we will having a reporting, and he said that this subject is interesting because it will help us to develop our digital method of teaching using technology and to identify and apply the educational trends. He also state the things that we should not to do during his class such as using cellphone, being late and absent and many more.

And he give us our first activity where he divided us into eight group and give us the topic which is related to the History of Education Technology that needed to explain and elaborate.(the topic that had been given to us is year 1600-1800 Public Education) that we observe that at this era Public education was introduced to get a better job in the future. At 1700 at this era intoduced the Black board and chalk which made in pine wood and uses to write the things that they need to learn and also to write the alphabet.1800 at this era introduced the books.

So this how my EdTech subject Journey starts Im expecting that this subject will benefit us as future educator to have digital method of teaching and i hope this subject will be more exciting,interesting and more fun.
